DJ Vito Jr.

Born in Los Alamos and raised in Taos, New Mexico, Victor (Vito) Trujillo Jr., better known to listeners as DJ Vito Jr., has been surrounded by music his entire life. With his father, Victor "Vito" Trujillo, guiding him on guitar from the age of eight, it wasn't long before his passion turned into a lifelong career. By age eleven, Vito was already performing professionally, joining his father in the popular band Vito Y Alan and later playing with the Taos High School Mariachi group.
Over the years, Vito's talent carried him across New Mexico and Southern Colorado, performing with countless bands and sharing the stage with some of the region's best musicians. In 2004, he revived Adobe Records, the family label founded by his father in 1973, and in 2019, he helped bring Taos musicians together for a Playing for Change music video in collaboration with Razorsharp Productions.
In 2020, Vito joined New Mex Radio as the station's very first DJ personality, where his deep roots in New Mexico music, easygoing style, and community connection quickly made him a listener favorite. His hard work and dedication were recognized in 2023 when he won the Mark Ipiotis Award at the New Mexico Hispano Music Awards.
Today, DJ Vito Jr. continues to celebrate local sounds while producing and releasing his own original music, keeping New Mexico's musical spirit alive, one song at a time.
Pamela
Community Media Creator
Pamela was born and raised in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She found her way into the New Mexico music scene in August 2018, when an attempt to keep her late husband from selling her mini electric guitar led her to load it into her trunk and drive to Las Vegas, New Mexico. She had no idea how popular these mini guitars would become. Today, she has 11 mini guitars covered with signatures from 505 New Mexico musicians.
This passion project led Pamela to work with a New Mexico band for two years, recording and managing the band's social media while continuing to collect signatures.
In July 2025, Pamela joined the New Mex Radio staff. She now dedicates her time to capturing and sharing videos of New Mexico music in Albuquerque and across the state.
